Foundations courses are organised during Terms 1, 2 and 3 at Chavagnes.
The Foundation course, which will last between 1 and 3 terms depending on a student’s needs, will prepare candidates for entry into the Chavagnes BA or Diploma in the Liberal Arts. It is designed for young people aged 17-30 who have decided that they wish to commit to university studies but do not, for whatever reason, have the requisite academic track record to permit matriculation to a university level course.
The focus on the Foundation Course is on literacy, numeracy and analytical skills. Study of the French language is also possible.
To be ready for degree level study at Chavagnes, a candidate must be able :
- to read, absorb, understand and analyse large amounts of written information
- to produce structured essays
- to explain and defend ideas in spoken discussion
A certain level of competence in Mathematics is also required for the Liberal Arts course.
Enquiries relating to the Foundation course should be addressed to the Registrar. You may use the form below to contact us.
